I’m not living in San Jose, but when I drive my car to my work, I often see cherry blossom trees around here. When I see those trees, how can I explain my feelings, whenever I see cherry blossom trees, I feel spring or a very peaceful moment. I cannot express well about my feelings in words. It is one of moments of thinking I am a Japanese. However, there is a difference between American cherry blossom trees and Japanese cherry blossom trees due to an atmosphere. Therefore, I want to have a cherry blossom party by seeing Japanese Cherry blossom trees in Japan. When I live here, there is no opportunity to feel a sense of the season not much. So I feel sometimes lonely I cannot quite feel four seasons here.

By the way, I am from Nagano in Japan. There is one of famous cherry blossom trees place which is called Takatou Jyoushi Park in Nagano. When spring comes, there will be crowded with many people to see cherry blossoms. Therefore, a lot of traffic is congested by such people around there. Anyways, Takatou kohigan zakura which is bright pink and blooming only in Nagano is pretty awesome in spring.

Hello! This is Yamanishi from Call Center Osaka.
As you know, our Call Center is always open, 24 hours a day. We can do so by taking advantage of time difference between LA, NY, and Osaka offices to assist you around the clock, but did you know that our Call Center agents are also helping other agents in different time zones for easier and better solutions?

When we receive inquiries from our Customers and if we need further research with airlines, hotels, or rental car companies, of course we check with the respective supplier immediately and get back to you in a timely manner, however, if we are allowed to take time for answers, or if we need to negotiate or file complaints, sometimes we intentionally change the contact points, also by utilizing our Call Center’s worldwide network.

Let’s say we have some complicated questions which require detailed and thorough assistance from the airline reservation staff. And if we think the Reservation Desk in Japan can help us better for such inquiry, our Call Center staff in NY or LA office request Osaka Office to contact the airline in Japan. Our Osaka office then will contact the airline here, get the answers, and send back to our NY or LA office by the next morning.

On the other hand, if we have a situation which should be brought to Supervisor or Sales Manager’s attention for better solution or negotiation, Osaka office will ask NY or LA office staff to contact them during their business hours which are mostly the same as our NY or LA office hours.

Every day when we take over the Call Center shift from another office, we ask and report such inquiries mentioned above to each other. Sometimes such transfer chat can take long, making me feel closer to our NY or LA office staff than my real family in Osaka!

Yama/OSA

Ten rules in the discussion

I am always surfing the net at home. Sometimes, I found some lesson for me. I would like to share the one with you. The lesson is determined by students in elementary school.

To going to your business, we have to have a meeting/discussing many times a day/week. Regardless in the business, we have to discuss and talk to someone. I have read some article on email news. This article has been made one of elementary school student in Finland. They are super!! Due to the kind of kids, their thought is very simple. It will be worked.

The ten (10) rules in the discussion made by Elementary school student in Finland

Do not interrupt while someone talking.

Do not drag on the talk.

To talk, do not be mad/cry.

Ask immediately when to have a question/concern.

Look at the eyes of the person who is speaking.

Do not do anything (just listen!)

Listen to the talk to the end.

Do not say to waist the meeting.

Do not make a wrong opinion whatever to say

10. Once finished the discussion, do not talk about it.

You should try it!!

REF: Rocket News

Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, the park is located in Maranhao state in notheeasten Brazil. This sand dune in the park is the brightest sand dune in the world.

The original name is “Maranhao sheets.” That is silky sheets also spread the park in 370 acres. The satellite can confirm from the space above.

The dune is made in 100% quartz sand (crushed quartz). The quartz sand has been brought from underground river Paranaiba. This turquoise lake can be seen only three months between July – September rainy season. This lake is moved up by groundwater springs. Even just seen during only three months, we can see a new king of live turtles, frogs and fish swimming in the lake. The biologists do not know where to come from. Due to the character of the place, the environmental study is not known.

New Aircraft in Service

Hello! This is Yamanishi from Call Center.

I had an opportunity to fly Boeing 787 recently, as ANA (All Nippon Airways) inaugurated world’s first 787 service here in Japan’s domestic routes (Tokyo – Hiroshima, Tokyo – Okayama) in November. Although the delivery of the first aircraft was delayed for more than 3 years, the arrival and first flight of the aircraft have been covered by many TVs and papers in Japan.

With sky-rocketing oil price, the most significant feature of this 787 is “Fuel Efficiency.” New innovative material “Carbon Fiber” has contributed the aircraft to reduce its own weight. And along with unique form of wings and improved engines, its fuel consumption has been reduced by 20% compared to older aircraft.

Although it was too short of a flight to feel the difference, the in-flight environment has reportedly improved as well, with higher humidity and higher air pressurization. And the window shades are gone on this new generation aircraft; instead we can electronically adjust the light level of each window. Clear window will get darker just like sunglasses by just pushing a button!

Overhead bins are also bigger and can accommodate more and bigger bags, yet, it doesn’t bother the interior of cabin and will be stored high above the ceiling, which gives the passengers wider and taller impressions, especially near the doors.

With improved fuel efficiency, operation cost for the airlines has also reduced and that enables them to serve new routes which have moderate demands. For instance, ANA just announced their intension of inaugurating San Jose – Tokyo and Seattle – Tokyo nonstop routes in 2012. Japan Airlines will also fly nonstop from Boston to Tokyo in April 2012.

Not just Japanese carriers but United, Delta, and Air Canada have also ordered 787s, in addition to more than 50 other airlines worldwide. Something we can look forward to, a better flying experience!

There are many different kinds of aircraft flying all around the world. And even if it is the same aircraft, the accommodation and seat layout vary by airlines. When we book your flight, we include the type of aircraft in your E-Ticket Confirmation. Of course we can tell it to you at the time of booking. Please feel free to ask us anytime! We look forward to informing you BOEING 787 on your confirmation very soon!

My first trip to Dubai, UAE
As you may know, we Wing Mate is an exclusinve member of TSI Japan, and I went to Dubai for TSI Worldwide Conference held in Dubai the other day. It was only 3days stay there but my initial impression about Dubai was turned out that I want to go there again even though its hard to adjust the time difference between Dubai and US time zone. I had predicted that I would see lots of high rise buidings under construction were stopped the progress but there were obviously only small number of buildings standing with construction stopped. I have met with several industry people there especially the hotel sales reps and heard from them they are presently doing good with high occupancy in Dubai.Honestly, I didn’t find the specific reason why people go to Dubai, but it is certainly an unique city. Maybe an atmosphere in Middle East with Moslem world is good enough to escape from the routine lifestyle for anybody.
